Freedom to Live Independent – And Stay Safe!
Freedom allows a higher degree of safe independence for loved ones prone to wandering, including individuals living with Autism, Alzheimer's and Dementia, while giving caregivers and their family members greater peace of mind.
Using your cell phone or a secure computer portal, you can locate your loved one at any time. The portable receiver creates an RF (Radio Frequency) proximity zone when the loved one is nearby, up to 35 yards indoors and 85 yards outdoors. Outside of this proximity zone, Freedom uses a combination of GSM and GPS technology to determine the loved one's location anywhere in the world. It is accurate up to 10 feet!
You can also set movable safe zones – also known as a "GeoFence" – using the portable receiver. If these safe zones are crossed, the Freedom watch sets off a visual and audible alarm, sending the wander’s current location by email and/or text message directly to the caregiver or family member.

An annual service plan is required to operate the Freedom Wandering Prevention and Emergency Alert system. Service Plan Prices are $9.99 per month for a basic EMAIL Messaging Plan (first year included in the Freedom purchase price), or an additional $8.00 per month for the addition of SMS Messaging Plan to the Basic EMAIL Messaging Plan. Activation instructions are packaged with the product.

Technical Details
Lok8u has developed its own proprietary Cell ID technology which provides a quick approximate location of the person. This is then refined using GPS to achieve an accuracy of 3 meters. The benefit of using dual locating technology is that the person can still be located in instances where normal GPS technology may not be sufficient. This action is driven via a mobile phone using the texting facility or via the internet using our secure portal.
